PC Hardware Information on Windows

Everything on this page applies to Microsoft Windows PCs and uses free CPUID software: CPU-Z for CPU information and HWMonitor for hardware monitoring.

Two free CPUID tools cover almost every Windows hardware question.

CPU-Z – what your PC is made of

CPU-Z reports processor, mainboard, chipset, memory and graphics information, and can export everything through Tools > Save Report. It is the standard answer to "how do I identify my computer hardware on Windows".

HWMonitor – how your PC behaves

HWMonitor reads temperatures, voltages, fan speeds and power draw for the CPU, GPU, drives and board sensors.

Stress testing

powerMAX loads the CPU and GPU so you can see sustained behaviour, and PerfMonitor 2 follows processor performance counters.

Keeping Windows secure

Hardware information is only part of PC maintenance. For protection against malware and unwanted software on Windows 10 and Windows 11, the independent Malwarebytes Windows Guides explain practical security steps for everyday users.
