This policy explains what cpuid.net records when you visit the site or download CPU-Z, HWMonitor and the other Windows utilities published here, why any of it is recorded, and what you can do about it. It was last reviewed in 2026.

Simply reading a page does not require an account and does not ask you for a name. Our web server keeps the usual technical request log: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser identification string. Those entries exist for security and troubleshooting and are not used to build a profile of you.
When you fill in the contact form or the bug report form, the message and the address you enter reach us by email. We keep that correspondence only as long as it takes to answer you and, where a bug is involved, to confirm that the fix works.
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. cpuid.net uses them to remember display preferences and to let advertising and audience measurement partners count visits. Every browser lets you refuse cookies or delete the ones already stored, usually from the privacy section of its settings. The site remains readable with cookies turned off, although parts served by third parties may behave differently.
Some page elements come from other companies: advertising, audience statistics and, on the pages that sell a license, payment processing. Those providers receive the technical data needed to serve their part of the page, and they apply their own privacy terms to it. CPU-Z, HWMonitor, PerfMonitor 2 and powerMAX read hardware on your own machine and display the result locally. Data leaves your PC only when you decide to send it: by submitting a CPU-Z validation, by attaching a monitoring file to a bug report, or by checking for a new version, which contacts our server to compare version numbers.
Under European data protection law you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Write to [email protected] and we will handle the request directly.
