HWMonitor is the free CPUID hardware monitor for Windows. It reads the health sensors of a PC and displays them in a single tree: CPU temperature per core and per package, GPU temperature, motherboard sensors, drive temperatures, voltages, fan speeds and power values, each with current, minimum and maximum readings.
The two tools answer different questions. CPU-Z identifies the hardware — processor, mainboard, memory and graphics information. HWMonitor monitors it — temperatures, voltages and fans. Most Windows users install both.
For logging, graphs, alerts and remote monitoring, see HWMonitor PRO. A step-by-step walkthrough is in the guide on how to check CPU temperature on Windows.
